This ongoing series is my reaction to the ongoing devastation in the Syrian war. The paintings are mostly portraits of Syrian refugees. I met some of them at a refugee camp.  The paintings portray the juxtaposition of bright colors and grim subjects. The barbed wires represent artificial demarcation between countries and the stitches, in contrast, portray the hope of peace and unity in the future.
